Sufficient Grace

Do you sometimes feel like that you just don’t have enough?   Like you need just a little more?  To you that may mean love, money, affection, time, perhaps a spouse, kids, a better job, or even happiness.

You may just not have enough of something, whatever that may be for you to live to your full potential, or your desired level of satisfaction in life.  If only you had more friends, if only you had a partner, if only you had more money, if only you had a better car, if only you didn’t have the past that you have…… and your life quickly consists of “If only’s.”

Life becomes stressful and unpleasant if we live it only thinking about the things we do not have.  Let me tell you, if we do not realize that the only thing we truly need to be satisfied and complete in life is God, then we will ALWAYS be lacking something in our life.  I mean always.  Nothing will ever be sufficient.  Even if we get what we thought we wanted, we will eventually need something else.  And it’s not that we really need whatever that is, it’s really that we were created to be whole with God.  And so, if He is not the center of our lives, then we are incomplete beings.  Our soul and hearts know that there is something missing, and our mind will tell us that missing something is a person or object, when in reality it is God.

So, in the urge for your soul to find that missing part, it will let itself be misguided by what the mind says. That is why Paul says in Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

When we let God be our EVERYTHING His peace is with us, and it is that peace that guards our heart and mind.  Therefore, we will no longer be fueled by what our mind tells us we need.

My life is complete with God.  Yes, there are things I would like to have, such as the affection of my father, but that does not stop me from living a whole life with Jesus Christ.  He is my Father.  He is my friend.  He is my everything.  I am whole, complete, and fulfilled with God.

The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  God Himself tells us that His grace is sufficient.  We need nothing else, we lack nothing else.  His grace is enough to keep us going in the midst of our weakness.  We may not have a lot of material things, or even people we love, but if we have God, He will fill that empty gap someone or something leaves in our life.  He will fulfill us to the extent that we are OK if we do not have those things.  Why?  Because His grace is sufficient.

Let go of the idea of what you don’t have, and grab hold of God’s grace over your life.  Be complete with our Lord and Savior.  He is all that you need.  If you have everything else, but not Him, you will still be incomplete.  However, if you have Him and nothing else, you have everything you need to be happy in life.

Much love,
